You Have The Right To Appeal
If you have been wrongfully convicted of a crime or if a judge or jury has rendered a civil verdict against you because of an incorrect interpretation of the law, you may need the services of a skilled and experienced appeals lawyer. The work of an appeals lawyer is dramatically different from the work of a trial lawyer. At The Law Office of Bryce D. Neier, PLLC, we have extensive experience in appeals. We regularly prepare appellate briefs and present compelling legal arguments in state and federal appeals. Contact us to schedule a consultation about your appeal.
A Resourceful, Effective Appellate Lawyer
Unlike jury trials, where facts are considered and determined, appellate hearings focus entirely on interpretations of law. A successful appellate lawyer must have:
- A solid understanding of the law
- Excellent legal research and writing skills
- The ability to use oral argument to persuade a panel of judges to accept a particular interpretation of the law.
At The Law Office of Bryce D. Neier, PLLC, we have extensive experience examining trial records, researching case law related to court decisions, writing appellate briefs and presenting persuasive oral arguments in civil case appeals.
Prepared And Admitted To Practice
We are admitted to practice in:
- The U.S. District Courts for the Eastern, Western and Middle Districts of North Carolina
- The U.S. Court of Appeals for the 4th Circuit
- The U.S. Courts of Veterans Appeals
- The U.S. Court of International Trade
- The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit
- The U.S. Tax Court
- The United States Supreme Court
High Profile Case Experience
Attorney Bryce D. Neier, began his legal career as a law clerk in the U.S. Attorney’s office for the Eastern District of North Carolina. During his tenure there, he provided research and support to the U.S. Attorney on the Jeffrey MacDonald — Green Beret Murder case, helping successfully deny Mr. MacDonald’s petition for a new trial in the 1990s.
At The Law Office of Bryce D. Neier, PLLC, we often handle appeals for other firms with less appellate experience. While we have gained significant skill and insight into preparing effective appeals, the greatest asset we provide our clients is the objective-dispassionate perspective we provide on their cases. We are prepared to serve pro hac vice in jurisdictions outside the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals.
